Korean Multilingual Activity Center
A parent-led multilingual community building family-to-family exchange across Asia.
KoMac is a community of families in Seoul who have practiced multilingual activity together since 2017. Every Saturday, children and adults meet to sing, play and speak in many languages — not to pass examinations, but to become people who can meet the world.
Since 2018 we have exchanged with families in Japan, Taiwan, Malaysia and Mexico. Our children have stayed in homes abroad, and we have welcomed their children into ours.
We are now establishing KoMac as an independent non-profit organization, so that this exchange can continue and grow beyond our own families.

What we do
Weekly multilingual meetings
Singing, dancing, self-introduction in several languages, and kamishibai storytelling. Ages 4 to adult, in one room.
Summer exchange (July–August)
About ten days living with a host family abroad. Japan, Taiwan and Southeast Asia.
Winter exchange (December–January)
Around twelve days of homestay, using the Korean school winter vacation.
Hosting in Korea
We receive visiting children and families in our own homes in Seoul.
Our track record
What we are looking for
We would like to hear from organizations and families who share the belief that language is learned by living, not by drilling.
Family-to-family homestay exchange
We match families, not tourists. What matters to us is that both sides gain a relationship that outlasts the trip.
Youth exchange programs
For ages roughly 10 to 18, with safety and guardian consent handled properly on both sides.
Partner organizations in Japan, Taiwan and beyond
Multilingual, multicultural and community groups interested in a long-term reciprocal relationship.
